Your right to deletion
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019, you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data held by NanoCabs. When you submit a deletion request, we will permanently remove your personal information from our active systems within 30 days.
What gets deleted
- Your account profile (name, email, phone number, password).
- Saved payment methods and preferences.
- Location history and saved addresses.
- Driver documents (ID, licence, logbook uploads).
- App usage data and device information.
What we may retain
Certain data may be retained for a limited period as required by Kenyan law:
- Financial records: Payment and transaction history retained for 7 years for tax compliance (Kenya Revenue Authority requirements).
- Safety records: Incident reports and safety-related data may be retained as required by law enforcement or regulatory bodies.
- Legal obligations: Data subject to ongoing legal proceedings or regulatory investigations.
How to request deletion
- Send an email to info@nanocabs.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request”.
- Include the email address and phone number associated with your NanoCabs account.
- Specify whether you are a rider, driver, or both.
- Our team will verify your identity and process the request within 30 days.
- You will receive a confirmation email once your data has been deleted.
Important notes
- Data deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
- You will lose access to your account, ride history, and any accrued rewards or credits.
- Outstanding payments or disputes must be resolved before deletion can be completed.
